The President of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, has officially appointed Rolando Mara as the new coach of the Albanian National Team, during a media conference where he also spoke about the end of the collaboration with Sylvinho.
The Duke stated that the Federation is closing an important cycle with Sylvinho and his staff, whom he thanked for the results and contribution given while leading the national team.
"We have gone through a period of many emotions. We have laughed, cried and celebrated together. In football it is normal for one cycle to close and another to begin. With full consensus and respect we have decided to end that adventure," he said.
The President of the Albanian Football Association said that Maran brings the experience and energy necessary to lead the team, while emphasizing that the objectives of the National Team remain the same: first place in the Nations League, qualification for Euro 2028 and then participation in the 2030 World Cup.
The Duke praised the Italian coach's career, highlighting his experience in European football and managing well-known teams in Italy.
"It is an important day for us, because we will make public the appointment of the new coach of the National Team, which is Rolando Maran. We close a cycle with Sylvinho and his staff, whom I want to thank on behalf of the Federation, the fans and all the staff for the results achieved and the great contribution given."
We have gone through a very important period with many emotions. We have laughed together, we have cried and we have rejoiced. In football, it is considered normal to close a cycle and start a new one. In a consensus and full respect, we have agreed to close that adventure.
We are starting with a coach who is not young in age, but with the right energy and the necessary experience, such as Rolando Maran. Our national team has set the bar or level where we want it and the objectives remain first place in the Nations League and qualification for Euro 2028 and then to be part of the 2030 World Cup.
"I wish coach Rolando Maran success with Albania. I didn't include his CV, because he has extensive experience in European football, coaching famous teams in Italy, and I'm sure he will do well," said Duka.
