In Chisinau, Moldova, since July 1, the European Championships for U-15 and youth are being held. Albania also participates in this event, which was represented by two athletes. Yesterday it was Samoel Rrasa's turn to compete, who was part of Battery A for the 67-kilogram weight class at the age of U-17.
Although in a highly competitive weight category, Rrasa managed to leave his mark by giving Albania another medal. The talented weightlifter of the Shtërmen team won a bronze medal in the breakaway style, successfully lifting 116 kilograms. Unfortunately, in the other push-up style, he failed to lift 133 kg, burning all three attempts. Thus, the tremendous talent does not manage to be classified as a two-athlete, but still gives Albania another medal. It should be noted that this was the first international competition for Rrasa and undoubtedly emotions and lack of experience have affected the competition.
However, after the race, coach Leonard Toska was satisfied, as well as the athlete himself, calling it a good performance. Thus, Albania ends the European Championship with 4 medals won, where of course the fantastic performance by Enkileda Carja stood out. The athlete from Elbasan amazed by winning three gold medals, which was also accompanied by 5 European records in the 59 kg weight category for the U-15 age group. Carja is absolutely considered the greatest Albanian weightlifting talent among women.
