Inter defeated Juventus 3-2 in the 25th week of Serie A superchallenge, consolidating their position at the top of the standings. This was the sixth consecutive victory for the Niger in the championship.
The match was unblocked in the 17th minute. After a lost ball in the area by Jonathan David and a combination involving Marcus Thuram and Luis Henrique, the ball intended for Lautaro Martinez was deflected into his own goal by Juventus defender Andrea Cambiasso.
However, the Bianconeri reacted quickly. In the 26th minute, Cambiaso restored the balance, taking advantage of an assist from Weston McKennie. After a cross in the area, the Italian defender proved more attentive than his opponent and sent the ball into the net for 1-1.
At the end of the first half, Inter came close to scoring again. Turam headed the ball in, but goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio made a decisive save, while Alessandro Bastoni hit the post. At the same time, Pier Kalulu was shown a second yellow card for a challenge on Bastoni, leaving Juventus a man down. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw.
The second half started with Juventus pressing. In the 51st minute, Jann Somer stopped three consecutive attempts by Cambiaso, Yildiz and Mireti, keeping Inter in the game.
The Blues regained the advantage in the 76th minute. Francesco Pio Esposito, who had been brought on for Luis Henrique a few minutes earlier, took advantage of a precise cross from Federico Dimarco and scored for 2-1.
Juventus did not give up and equalized again. Manuel Locatelli scored with a precise right-footed shot inside the area, after the second assist of the match from McKennie.
When the match seemed to be heading towards a draw, in the last minute of regular time, Piotr Zielinski scored a spectacular goal from distance, sealing a 3-2 victory for Inter.
After this success, Inter leads Serie A with 61 points, while Juventus remains in fifth place with 46 points.
