Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry have emerged as targets for the same position: national team manager.
Ten Hag is out of a job following his sacking by United last year, while Henry is also out of contract after leading France to a silver medal at the 2024 Olympics.
The Dutchman was sacked after a string of poor results and was sacked last October, while Henry signed a two-year deal to manage France's Under-21 side but resigned from his position after the 2016 Olympics. Paris last summer.
"Winning the silver medal at the Olympics for my country will remain one of the greatest prides of my life. I am extremely grateful to the federation, players, staff and supporters who allowed me to live a magical experience", declared Henry.
But Ten Hag and Henry could return to management, with both names emerging as options for the Belgium international.
According to sports website Joueurs Belges, the leaders of the Belgian Football Federation are 'pushing' the appointment of Henry, who was an assistant coach of their national team during the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
The Arsenal icon, 47, began his managerial career with AS Monaco before taking charge of MLS side Montreal Impact.
His last two managerial jobs have been on the international stage, with Belgium hoping to secure him as their next manager.
Ten Hag, meanwhile, has previously been linked with a Champions League club, never managing a national team in his managerial career.
The Dutchman made his name at Ajax before being hired by United.
Mark Van Bommel, who has managed PSV Eindhoven, Wolfsburg and Royal Antwerp, is also in the frame.
According to the report, the decision for the new manager of the Belgian national team is expected to be made at the end of the month.
