Tennis player Novak Djokovic has been fined $8,000 for showing nervousness by breaking his racket while losing the men's final at Wimbledon in London, the tennis association announced.
Djokovic was unexpectedly beaten by 20-year-old young champion Carlos Alcaraz, who became the third-youngest Wimbledon winner after winning the US Open title last year in the US.
Serbian Djokovic looked confident as the match began, but began arguing with the referee and retorting from the crowd.
Later his tension reached its peak until he managed to violently smash the tennis racket on the ground, which brought him a fine of 6,117 pounds.
In his victory speech, the young Spanish champion Alkaraz said: "I beat Novak in his best form, that's amazing."
