Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two more counts of rape, while he is on trial for previous similar allegations, which he has denied.
The new charges relate to a different woman and follow a new investigation by London's Metropolitan Police, according to the Crown Prosecution Service. A spokesman for the agency said the latest allegations were first reported in August 2025.
The 32-year-old Ghanaian footballer is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on March 13.
In September last year, Parti pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. According to the prosecution, the events he is accused of allegedly took place during 2021–2022.
His contract with English club Arsenal expired on June 30 last year and was not renewed, leaving the player a free agent. He subsequently signed for Spanish La Liga club Villarreal.
The legal process against him is ongoing and there is still no final decision from the court.
