Albania has learned its opponents for the new edition of the UEFA Nations League. The red and black national team will compete in League C, in Group C1, where they will face Finland, Belarus and San Marino.
According to the draw made in Brussels, Albania is part of a group of four teams, where the main objective remains the ranking in first place, which ensures promotion to League B for the next edition. The confrontations are expected to be balanced, with Finland considered a direct rival for the top of the group, while Belarus and San Marino complete the opponents.
The first match of the group stage will be played between 24-26 September, while the second match is scheduled for 27-29 September. The third match of the group will take place from 30 September to 3 October, while the fourth match will take place between 4-6 October. The fifth match of the group will be played between 12-14 November, while the final match is scheduled for 15-17 November. Albania aims to achieve positive results and advance to League B.
According to the official schedule, the first match of the group stage will be played between September 24-26, while the second match is scheduled just a few days later, on September 27-29.
The third group match will take place from September 30 to October 3, while the fourth match will be played between October 4 and 6. The last two group stage matches are scheduled for November: the fifth match from November 12-14 and the final match from November 15-17.
The detailed match schedule, as well as the determination of host stadiums and transfers, are expected to be made public by UEFA and the Albanian Football Federation in the future.
In League C, the other groups have also been drawn:
Group C2 includes Montenegro, Armenia, Cyprus and the winner of the Latvia/Gibraltar match.
Group C3 includes Kazakhstan, Slovakia, the Faroe Islands and Moldova.
Group C4 will feature Iceland, Bulgaria, Estonia and the winner of the Luxembourg/Malta match.
Meanwhile, League D consists of two groups:
Group D1 includes Gibraltar or Latvia, Malta or Luxembourg and Andorra.
Group D2 includes Lithuania, Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein.
The Nations League matches will take place according to the calendar set by UEFA, with official dates and times to be announced in due course.
