Thomas Strakosha was the goalkeeper Silvinho entrusted with the goal in the European Championship in Germany. The goalkeeper passed the first choice leaving Berisha on the bench and after the end of the adventure, he gave an interview to "Panorama Sport".
Strakosha says that the qualification went away in the match with Croatia, while the participation in the European was something else. He says that the match against Italy was the weakest, while confirming that he will leave Brentford to find a team where he can feel important.
Strakosha, you played for the first time in a European Championship, how did you feel on the field?
When he enters the field, he forgets everything. You have nothing else on your mind but just enjoying the game, the atmosphere, the fans screaming, the tournament. It's kind of sad that we didn't get to cheer them on even more by not qualifying for the next round. Everyone gave their best. We couldn't score against Spain and unfortunately we were eliminated from the group.
Which opponent did you have the most difficulty with?
Perhaps the most difficult was the match against Italy, also from the way we played. Because we didn't play that well, or the way we wanted to. It was the worst match we have played in the European, then we showed ourselves more against Croatia. I can say that there we lost the qualification because we should have won.
What do you think about the whole atmosphere created by the Albanian fans in this European?
I think it was a fantastic atmosphere. Arguably the best fans in the world and created an atmosphere like no other. We are happy to have them and to support us everywhere. I am proud of them and I hope we can reward them with a World Cup qualification.
Will you stay in the Premier League or can you move to another team where you can play regularly?
I will find a team where I can be important. I will focus on this. Now where it will be I don't know, but it would be the maximum for me.
