With a time of 5 minutes, 56 seconds and 79 hundredths, Gega finished fourth in the World Athletics tournament, held in Zagreb, Croatia for the 'Gold' category.
The "red" athlete improves by a few seconds the national record in this discipline, set by herself in 2019, with a time of 6:00:07. The record set by Gega in Zagreb is the second best time in the history of the 2000m steeplechase in Europe and the fourth best in the world.
We recall that a few weeks ago, the athlete improved another record of hers, breaking the national record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:09.64, in the "Diamond League" tournament that took place in Zurich, Switzerland.
Thus, Gega closes the season with two new national records: in the 2000 and 3000 meter steeplechase.
