
Gareth Southgate resigned, after eight years as coach of the "Three Lions", after the defeat in the final of "EURO 2024" by Spain in July. But according to Henri Whitner, he's already back to work.
It is reported that the former coach of England will be employed by UEFA until the end of the season as a technical observer. The role, which sees him follow matches and report back to European football's governing body, analyzing games from a coach's perspective.
The observations, alongside the use of VAR and statistics, are designed to help UEFA spot new trends in football, to improve coaching education.
Fabio Kapelo, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Avram Grant, Aitor Karanka and Frank de Beer, all worked as UEFA technical observers in "EURO 2024".
Southgate, 53, taking up the new role for the remainder of the 2024-25 season is not planning to return to training during that time.
The former "Three Lions" coach was heavily linked to replace Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United this summer. However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe decided to continue with the Dutchman, who signed a new contract at Old Trafford.
The FA have yet to appoint a successor to Southgate, who has been making the most of his time off work by buying five new £2.4million homes for his growing investment firm and enjoying the sun on holiday in Portugal with his family.
