Fired by Vllaznia, Brdaric reacts for the first time: Dreams of the championship

Coach Thomas Brdaric has reacted for the first time after being fired from the management of Vllaznia.

In a post on social media, the 50-year-old technician writes that to become a champion, dreams alone are not enough, but you also need structure, good decisions and time.

Regarding the loss in the title final against Egnatia, Brdaric says it was an atmosphere like in the Champions League, while adding that the result was bitter.

In the end, he does not spare his praise for Shkodra, saying that it was there that he pursued his dreams.

"To become champions, dreams and hopes are not enough. You need structure, stability, good decisions and time."

This season, we gave it our all. We reached the Final Four, finished second in the league and earned a place in the Conference League qualifiers again. That is a sporting achievement and the small bonus of European revenue will help the club. But the deeper value lies in what we created together.

From the beginning, our goal was to compete at the highest level without losing our identity. Thomas Brdaric's attacking style of football. This meant chasing titles while also developing the next generation. A difficult balance, but one we embraced with full commitment.

We saw young players like Dodaj and Jukaj take their first real steps in top-level football. Other young players are waiting to get their chance like Tafili and Spahija and others.

At the same time, our experienced leaders, captain Balaj, captain Gurishta, Krymi, Mala and Deliu, held the team together with consistency and character. They were the backbone that kept the standard high, on and off the field.

Losing in the final hurts. Without a doubt. Atmosphere like in the Champions League matches in my time as a player. All in red and blue, what a perfect setting to become champions!

But the season gave us more than a result. It gave us growth, confidence and a team that fought together until the last minute.

Every morning, riding my scooter through Shkodra to the stadium, I saw people who believed. Their faces, their hopes, reminded me why I do this job. That daily sight was my motivation. My personal journey with Vllaznia began in 2020.

During these years, I have been proud of: Winning the Cup, being honored as Coach of the Year, building a team that never gave up even when the conditions were far from easy.

Now, that journey ends. Shkodra will always be more than a football city to me. It is a place of passion, pride and perseverance. A place where I followed my dreams and faced reality.

"To the players, staff, club, president and especially the fans: Thank you for your trust, energy and love for the game and for Vllaznia. The work is not finished," writes Brdaric.

Vllaznia finished the championship in second place, while in the title final they were defeated 4-0 by Egnatia.
