Romanian Horatiu Mircea Fesnic will be the main referee of the Andorra - Albania duel, which will be played on November 13 and is valid for Group K of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The 36-year-old is an experienced referee and will be assisted by his compatriots Valentin Avram, Alexandru Cerei and Rares Vidican. The VAR will be headed by Ovidiu Haţegan with assistant Adrian Costreie.
Horatiu Mircea Fesnic began his career as a footballer, where he played until the age of 19, before focusing on refereeing. He made his debut as a main referee in Romania on March 12, 2012, at the age of 22.
In the fall of 2016, he was included in the FIFA list of international referees and has been entrusted with several important matches. Most recently, he refereed in the Europa League group stage matches between Utrecht - Lyon and Stuttgart - Feyenoord. He is known for allowing strong play and has a low average of yellow cards.
Once again, a Romanian referee is refereeing the national team, as in Albania's 0-1 victory in Serbia, Romanian István Kovács was the one who refereed.
