Albanian striker breaks taboo with transfer to "enemy land", 28-year-old moves from capital to Serbian team

Albanian-born striker Driton Camaj has completed a successful transfer to Serbian side Novi Pazar. The 28-year-old left Astana, the capital club in Kazakhstan.

Camaj has his "roots" in Albanian lands, having played for the Montenegrin national team. Interestingly, in the Serbian championship, it has been several decades since an Albanian player or one of Albanian origin has "stepped" on this land. 

After 20 weeks in the Serbian Super League this season, Novi Pazar holds 4th place with 32 points, 14 less than leaders Partizan Belgrade.
