Myrto Uzuni and Enea Mihaj seem to have made the right choice by transferring to Major League Soccer. The two Albanian national team players have been active since last year in the American championship, which is gaining more and more popularity and audience, while at the same time they are also benefiting from considerable salaries.
According to official data published in the US, Myrto Uzuni remains the highest-paid Albanian footballer in MLS. The Austin FC striker will earn a base salary of $1.6 million for 2026, while his guaranteed income until the end of the season will reach $2.3 million. The figure can be further increased through bonuses and sporting objectives.
Compared to last season, Uzun has registered a significant financial increase. In 2025, he received a little more than $ 1.5 million in base salary, while the total guaranteed income was about $ 2.22 million.
Defender Enea Mihaj, who plays for Atlanta United, also saw a pay raise. For the 2026 season, he will earn a base salary of $1.21 million, while guaranteed earnings will reach $1.55 million. A year ago, Mihaj had a base salary of $1.03 million and $1.37 million guaranteed.
Meanwhile, young Albanian talent Adri Mehmeti has also joined the MLS this season. The 17-year-old midfielder has been promoted to the New York Red Bulls first team and is now among the league's players with professional contracts.
According to published figures, Mehmeti earns a base salary of over $113,000 per year, while his guaranteed income until the end of the season is around $159,000. Given his positive performances in the first weeks of the season, expectations are that the value of his contract will increase significantly in the coming years.
