
The father of Liverpool star Luis Diaz, who was kidnapped by a Colombian group last month, was released on Thursday and handed over to Catholic Church representatives in Valedupar, Colombia, according to the Colombian Episcopal Conference.
Luis Manuel Diaz and his wife, Cilenis Marulanda, were kidnapped by National Liberation Army (ELN) gunmen on motorcycles at a gas station in Barrancas, the family's hometown in northern Colombia, on October 28.
Marulanda was later rescued, but only a major police and military search operation managed to get the player's father out of Diaz played and scored for Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League against Luton, while a message was not missing from the shirt.
