A Club World Cup every two years, expanded to 48 teams instead of every four years, with 32 participants!
That's the plan on FIFA president Gianni Infantino's desk, according to the British newspaper The Guardian. According to the British newspaper's reconstruction, FIFA will consider the idea of organizing the Club World Cup every two years starting in 2029.
The next Club World Cup will take place in four years, in 2029, after the first 32-team tournament this summer in the United States, but some of Europe's biggest clubs are said to be pressuring FIFA to transform the tournament into a two-year event with more teams, thus doubling revenue.
