Mario Mitaj is undoubtedly Silvinho's discovery in the "EURO 2024" qualifiers. The 20-year-old managed to turn the left side of the defense into his "property", where despite his young age he managed to develop the performance of a "veteran".
There were no shortage of offers for him and Mitaj was very close to moving from Lokomotiv Moscow to Dinamo Zagreb. After several long days of negotiations such an operation failed. The coach of the Croatian team, Sergej Jakirovic, spoke about the causes of this failure.
The latter emphasizes that the talent of the national team was on their list and due to financial conditions the parties could not agree. We recall that Lokomotiv Moscow asked for 7 million euros for the services of Mitaj, while the Croatians offered 500 thousand euros for his loan and at the end of the season they would pay 3.5 million euros to finally buy the card of the defender.
" Names always appear in the media. Regularly, Mario Mitaj was on our list and we tried to transfer him, but no agreement was reached due to financial issues. Under these conditions, we continued with alternative B ", emphasized the Croatian helmsman.
