Criminal expert Ervin Karamuço says that 58-year-old Renato Hoxhaj, who was killed in Vlora, was involved as an informant, as he had information about criminal groups.
In an interview with ABC News, Karamuço said that the perpetrator of the murder is suspected to be a foreign citizen and may have been helped to cross the border to Greece.
"I have the impression that this person had become a big problem for these groups, which are not in Vlora, but in the United Arab Emirates, a part of them. He had taken measures, but fell victim to an assassination attempt. The police suspect that the perpetrator is a foreigner. The circumstances of his crossing the border are unknown. He may have been helped by other people, in the mountainous terrain, to cross into Greece.
It is also being checked by the Greek side, but there is no result. They have learned a lot of information. These are transnational groups, which include a number of gangs that cooperate with each other. They are connected to each other. The police have documented that this murder, the one in Vlora, was ordered from Dubai, they have the order given on their cell phone. They have verified it. In addition to the arrested person, there are other people who are suspected of having actively participated. It was an easy murder to carry out, but with many mistakes ," he stressed.
