The former Prosecutor of Serious Crimes, Eugen Beci, revealed how he was threatened by Dritan Rexhepi after demanding his sentence of 17 years in prison for two attempted murders in the city of Vlora.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Beci, now a lawyer, said that Rexhepi, after being sentenced to only two years, was released and threatened him with physical elimination.
Ylli Rakipi: Lawyer, you investigated him and were even threatened with death by him. Why did you investigate?
Eugen Beci: In 2002-2003, this person was the leader of two assassination attempts in the city of Vlora, for which he was wanted. In the first attempt, the person was injured and escaped. We declared him wanted. The 1999 incident had not yet been revealed, but it was discovered with clues and while he was being searched, he committed another wounding with attempted murder and we arrested him. The court and the system failed to convict him. I asked for 17 years in prison, he was sentenced to only 2 years. When he got out of prison, there was a problem with the investigation, he did it, but the police stopped him.
Ylli Rakipi: I don't understand, you say 17 years and he was sentenced to 2 years.
Eugen Beci: Yes, that's why he came to the door of the house.
Ylli Rakipi: What does this job mean to me? Did it come to your door?
Eugen Beci: Yes. After finishing the investigation and trial, 2 years, he was unhappy that the prosecution asked for 17 years and he saw that there might be a possibility that it would come out, as it turned out, and therefore there was an attempt to carry out a physical elimination against me. It was not realized, the investigation was done. He was caught by the police, no attempt was made against the judicial authorities. But I want to say that he was a complex character that even then and today has not been talked about, who made a structured group and who invested to save himself and his criminal group.
