"January 21", Spartak Braho: The servers have not been deleted, within

Former MP Spartak Braho stated that the "January 21" case is nearing closure and that former Prime Minister Sali Berisha will end up in prison very soon.

"Berisha is busy. I hope that within the first quarter of 2026, Berisha's case will be resolved and I predict that Berisha will go to prison on January 21. This issue absorbs every other issue. January 21 is too much for Berisha ," said Braho.

While commenting on the evidence collected by SPAK in the "January 21" investigation, Braho singled out the testimony of former president Bamir Topi, describing it as essential to the investigation.

"Topi's testimony is concrete and completes the entire framework of the case. Being president, he is aware of many things. Of course, there was also a clash with Berisha, who called him a 'putschist'," he said.

As for Ilir Meta's testimony, Braho expressed skepticism: "I don't know what Meta talked about, but I don't believe he could know something spicy that could be added to the investigation. Meta is not in a position to incriminate Berisha."

Braho also returned to memories from January 21, mentioning an episode related to the former leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha.

"I remember an episode when Lulzim Basha called Ilir Meta and said: 'It turns out that the cartridge found in the victim's body does not belong to the Republican Guard.' This call happened that day, January 21 ," he said.

According to him, Basha's statement about the caliber of the cartridge was incorrect.

"Basha said the cartridge was a 9.2 caliber, but I told him that the Guard uses exactly these weapons that come from Turkey with the same caliber. 'Go and ask,' I told him. Then he called me and told me I was right ," Braho said.

Asked whether Basha's statements could weigh on Berisha's positions on "January 21", Braho replied that "Basha's statements are not important, because the material is abundant. The transcripts of the wiretaps close the framework of evidence."

Braho also spoke about the attempt to delete the Prime Minister's Office servers on the day of the event, calling it "a foolish act."

"The attempt to delete the servers was a fool's errand. Servers are never deleted. You can make attempts to cancel them, but there remains a cell there that breaks them all down. American experts recovered the documents and they are key evidence in SPAK ," he declared.

According to Braho, the "January 21" case is almost adjudicated and the indictment completed, while the final decision is expected in the first months of 2026.

Braho did not spare criticism for the Socialist Party's shortcomings in handling this issue.

"The delay in the investigation and trial of this case is inexcusable. This is where the defect of the leaders of the Socialist Party begins because they have constantly played with the event. Berisha's crimes have been accepted. In the coup in 1998, I was on the investigative commission together with Ngjela and then it turned out that those orders for bombings came from Berisha," he concluded for "Report TV".
