The number of people experiencing mental health problems has increased recently.

Based on the incident in Maliq where Ramiz Muçllari was killed by RENEA after the armed man refused to surrender to the law enforcement authorities, after a fight with his family members, psychiatrist Nikolina Bode has spoken about the situation of people with mental problems in the district of Korça.

The doctor stated to Euronews Albania that there are over 3,600 cartelized people in Korça, She added that the heat has aggravated their situation by making them more aggressive and increasing the risk of crime in the family.

"Today we have more than 3,600 people with mental health cartelized, we are talking about chronic problems, without mentioning here acute problems, mental health emergencies or cases that are presented to us every day in the clinic", said Bode .

According to the doctor, recently the number of people with mental health problems has increased and a number of different factors have influenced this, such as high temperatures, insomnia, domestic violence, immigration and economic difficulties.

"Mental health problems are increasing and are influenced by many factors, social, economic, immigration. Especially this period, the high temperatures associated with insomnia, despite the fact that in our city, which has a cool climate, we reached the maximum in recent years this summer. This had a negative effect!" said the doctor.
