Bad weather "hits" hard/ Korça and Dibra in emergency, roads impassable

The freezing weather and heavy snowfall are causing serious problems in the southeast and northeast of the country.
The Korça region continues to face low temperatures, snow and landslides, causing blockages on several rural roads. Families have been evacuated to the villages of Cërrava and Dardhas, in the Pogradec Municipality, while the Dunicë–Trebinjë and Zall–Torra roads in Proptisht remain impassable.

On national roads, traffic is only allowed with winter tires. Authorities are working to clean and salt the Boboshticë–Dardhe, Maliq–Kufi Gramsh and Korçë–Ersekë segments, but problems continue due to alluvium and mud from the slopes, especially in the Lozhani area.

Meanwhile, the situation is also worsening in the Dibër region. The Zalla-Dardhe and Zalla-Reç axes have been blocked by a landslide on the mountain slope in the Zalla-Reç administrative unit, isolating the area for several hours.

The Municipality of Dibër has been working all night to open the road connecting the area with Peshkopia, while work continues in the administrative unit of Slovo. The heavy snowfall has brought great difficulties to remote villages, where the thickness of the snow in some areas has exceeded 40 centimeters.

Brussels 'runs out of patience', issues red card to Rama government/ Files are stifling justice, judges are lacking

The European Union Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, spoke at a press conference today, January 12, about justice in Albania and its challenges. Gonzato also stated that guarantees are needed for citizens of EU countries who want to invest in Albania.
Earlier, the head of the Supreme Court, Sokol Sadushi, also spoke at this conference.
