The criminalistics expert, Ervin Karamuço, has revealed details on how the negotiations were carried out for the handover of Sokol Mjacaj after he committed the murder in the prison in Peqin.
Karamuço said in the show "Review" that after executing Arben Lleshi, Mjacaj, together with the gun with a grinder in his hand, isolated himself in the meeting room, where he was alone.
According to him, RENEA arrived at the prison premises, but the handover of the author was made by the personal negotiations of the General Director of Prisons, who entered the room without a bulletproof vest and talked with Mjacaj. Karamuço revealed the conversation between the two.
“He entered the dating section, but it was empty. He remained isolated, there. RENEA went immediately and took the heights and he saw this, and he understood that RENEA was going and you are with a gun in your hand, you are executed. In the meantime, they wanted to bring in a negotiator, but the General Director of Prisons came in and said "no, because RENEA is being brought in, I don't want another incident in this prison". And he went by himself without bulletproof vest without a weapon, together with the director of the Peqin prison. They went, first communicated through the window, then opened the door and entered. He was in the part of a meeting box where half is walled, half is glass.
He said: "We are both mountaineers, I don't want you to lose your life, I want you to surrender immediately." We will give you the handcuffs, you will put them on yourself and with the handcuffs you will throw away the pistol and come. Because other negotiators came, you know what to expect".
"I have the guarantee of life", Mhacaj told him. "Yes, you have," the director told him, and that's when he surrendered, Karamuço said.
