Albanian citizens have risen in protest about what is happening in the North of Kosovo. 3 Kosovo policemen were violently kidnapped by the Serbs, while Tirana has not stood by Pristina. Rama has been distant and this has caused the citizens to protest.
Hundreds of citizens have gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office with the call: "Neither south nor north, Mitrovica is Albania". Some of them have also accused Rama of treason. A protester said that Albania and Kosovo are one and we cannot turn our backs.
" We want the Albanians to be well wherever they live, like in Kosovo, Macedonia. The situation in the north has affected us. The Albanians there are not well. We want the state to take a stand in support of the Albanians of Kosovo. I feel it as an Albanian that I am , for Albanians to be good wherever they live. They must stay united, even in Mitrovica, fight the informality that is there," said a citizen .
"I am asking the Albanian Prime Minister to unconditionally support Albin Kurti, today or never. We have the same problem with the Slavs. We ask the prime minister to break away from relations with the Slavs, to support the government of Kosovo unconditionally. He should support Albin Kurti ", said another citizen.
Ndërsa një protestues tjetër tha: “Unë kam një thirrje për kryeministrin, SHBA dhe BE: Jepuni shqiptarëve dhe kosovarëve armët siç i ka dhënë rusi dhe kinezi Serbisë dhe ti marrin ushtarët e EULEX dhe ata që rrihen si gomerë në veri. E mbrojmë vetë Kosovën. Nëse Kosova ishte nën pushtimin serbo sllav tani kërkojnë ta kenë nën pushtimin evropian dhe amerikan. Rama të mos bëjë strucin në rërë, të dalë dhe të thotë është më vëllezërit kosovarë apo me serbët”.
The reports of Albania and Kosovo are at a critical point. Rama canceled the meeting between the two governments, while there was no communication between him and Kurt regarding the chaos in the North. Rama's reaction even after the kidnapping of 3 policemen was surprising. On the first day, he did not speak, but stated that he was waiting for KFOR's position. Meanwhile, after the US declared that the policemen should be released, Rama reacted and demanded the same. Protesters today demanded that Albania be on the side of Kosovo and not Serbia.
