The Constitutional Court has opened the way for the "Rama-Alabbar" project for the Port of Durrës. The government gave the port to the Arabs, but the opposition appealed to the Constitutional Court, calling the agreement signed with the government of the Arab Emirates unconstitutional.
The court convened in a plenary session and informs that it dismissed the lawsuit, without giving more details. Within 30 days, the full decision will be disclosed and there will be shown the reasons why the Constitutional Court made such a decision, a decision which seems to be a big corrupt affair. In Durrës, apartments have been sold before construction has even started.
"The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, after considering in a plenary session on the basis of the documents the case with no. 7 (Nj) 2022 of the Basic Registry, with petitioners not less than one fifth of the deputies (36 deputies) of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, with the object: "Repeal of law no. 145/2020, dated 03.12.2020 "On the ratification of the agreement for economic cooperation between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the United Arab Emirates", as incompatible with the Constitution and international agreements. Suspension of the implementation of law no. 145/2020, dated 02.12.2020, until the final decision of the Constitutional Court enters into force", in support of articles 131, point 1, letters "a" and "b" and 134, point 1, letter "c", of Constitution, as well as Articles 52, 52/a and 72 et seq. of Law no. 8577,

This decision is final and enters into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette ", the Constitution Minister announces.

The only data that is public are some beautiful 3D images that show what is expected to happen in the heart of the city of Durrës.
It is learned that this agreement has also raised doubts among international partners. The USA and NATO themselves are worried because warships were anchored there. The government now intends to build a commercial port in Porto Romano. Meanwhile, the EU has shown reservations several times. He even canceled the grant given for the development of the area.
" The EU is aware of the agreement concluded in November last year between Albania and the United Arab Emirates, which includes a major redevelopment of the port of Durrës. The EU has asked the Albanian authorities to provide clarifications in order to assess the compatibility of the agreement with the Stabilization-Association Agreement between the EU and Albania ", the EU stated.
Now there is no longer any obstacle for this corrupt project to be realized.
