Ilir Beqaj continues to sleep soundly, although he is deeply immersed in the issue of health concessions. SPAK today put Klodian Rjepaj in handcuffs, the former deputy minister of Health, while the one who signed the concession left him alone.
Judge Erion Bani has asked SPAK to investigate Beqaj as well, as there is evidence implicating him. So far, SPAK has not taken him as a defendant, but according to the lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu, he will not give up. Spahiu said in an interview that Beqaj had strong ties with the businessman who received the concession.
" Sources from the prosecution, who informed the partner services, told me that Beqaj had direct contacts and acquaintances with Ilir Rrapaj. One of the Albanian-American televisions even made it public a few minutes ago. The issue is on the scale of a scandal, as I would like to remind the Albanians that for an offense 10 times smaller than this, the Prime Minister of Bosnia-Herzegovina was arrested 2 months ago and sentenced to 4 years for 100 hospital beds during the pandemic. These are crimes of high social risk. These persons risk up to 12 years of imprisonment ," he said.
According to the lawyer, at the moment SPAK closes the file, it will request the measure of "prison arrest" for Ilir Beqaj. According to him, no one believes that the deputy minister awarded the tender without the permission of the minister. According to Spahiu, the day when Beqaj will be next to his subordinate in the cell will not be far away.
According to the official information, SPAK has been asked to take Ilir Beqaj under investigation. This means that there are doubts and evidence that SPAK is recommended to take as the defendant. Until this moment, Beqaj is not a defendant. If SPAK will consider the evidence sufficient to take it under investigation, according to logic and precedent, the measure of security will also be relevant to that of the deputy minister. SPAK will be obliged to request the same security measure that it has requested for the deputy minister, who had a classmate and childhood friend Ilir Rapaj and according to the prosecution had social relations, etc. Can an Albanian believe that 100 million euros are given by the deputy minister and the minister has no knowledge? No one believes this. According to all logic, in the following days SPAK will receive the defendant and Ilir Beqajn with the relevant insurance measure", he said.
Beqaj is the one who signed 3 abusive concessions: Check-up, hemodialysis and sterilization. But while everyone was waiting for him to be arrested first, SPAK has given him the opportunity to hang out and why not, maybe leave the country.
