The former Minister of Health Ilir Beqaj appeared this morning at the premises of the Special Prosecutor's Office since 09:00.

The former minister was presented to SPAK as part of the investigations for the sterilization concession.

Security measures "Compulsion to appear" and "Prohibition of exiting the country" have been set for Beqaja.

The former Minister of Health will be investigated for "misuse of duty carried out in cooperation" in the concession procedures under the security measure "obligation to appear" and "ban on travel abroad".

In an official announcement, the Special Prosecutor's Office informs that the former minister has committed the criminal offense of abuse of office in relation to the procedures followed for the concession of sterilization of surgical equipment worth 100 million euros.

Thus, according to the investigations developed up to this stage, the former minister is accused of violating equality in public tenders or auctions.
