Former prosecutor Ervin Karanxha has commented on the serious incident that occurred in Durrës, where two minors lost their lives and another was seriously injured as a result of an accident.
The former prosecutor emphasized the lack of territorial control and the poor implementation of preventive measures in residential areas, such as the area where the incident occurred in the former Këneta.
According to Karanxha, the case is related to repeated violations of traffic rules, emphasizing that the person involved in the accident should have been punished earlier with harsher measures.
"First of all, I would like to connect the incident with the control of the territory, we have a residential area that has had previous problems and needs a camera for greater control. This person, who has been reported several times for speeding in the area, should have been processed either with a license revocation or other measures."
"Driving in residential areas, beyond the permitted limits, is a violation of the Highway Code. Regarding the incident, I am reporting the problem to the Ministry of Transport," Karanxha emphasized.
He also raised concerns with the structures responsible for control and the appointment of competent experts, so that the situation can be resolved properly.
"The Ministry of Transport determines the persons and experts who are competent for this work in relation to the acts it will carry out and be elected. They do not have to allow irresponsible people who meet the legal criteria. Incompetent people enter every field and in the end, people are convicted. Someone who is not an expert can enter by claiming to be one.
"We are dealing with greater control of the territory. This man should have had his patent revoked," said Karanxha.
