The Supreme Court rejected the appeal of the former mayor of Durrës Vangjush Dako for a milder security measure and left him in prison.
Dako has been held in a cell since June, after being accused by SPAK of abuse of office.
Former mayor Dako was arrested on June 6 by order of the Special Prosecutor's Office under the suspicion that he has misused his office in two cases.
The first case for which Dako is accused is related to the granting of permission for the construction of a building in Durrës in violation of the law.
The other accusation that burdens the former mayor is related to the tender for a project for the development of the coastline, which increased its value 10-fold.
Along with Dako, the Special Court left six other officials in prison.
As for the surveyor Adrian Bulku and the head of the urban planning office, Adnand Toçila, the special court imposed house arrest, while for Diana Dedjan, Urban Planning specialist in the municipality of Durrës, the mandatory appearance measure was imposed.
Adhurim Qehajaj, the former director of Urbanism of the municipality of Durrës, who is accused of "Abuse of duty", "Forgery of seals, stamps and forms issued in the form of forgery of formulas approved by the person in charge, were also left in prison. their drafting and cooperation";

Fatmir Ejupi, Urban Planning specialist of the municipality of Durrës, under accusation of abuse of office twice and falsification of seals, stamps and forms carried out in the form of falsification of formulas approved by the person tasked with drafting them and in collaboration";
Meri Semini, Urban Planning specialist of the municipality of Durrës, accused of "Misuse of duty twice and falsification of seals, stamps and forms carried out in the form of falsification of formulas approved by the person tasked with drafting them and in cooperation" and Firzilet Hajdëri, accused of "Misuse of duty carried out in cooperation".
