The "conspiracy" of Ben Blushi / Albanian-Afghan marriage, the curfew
Ben Blushi

"Conspiracy" also gives life to a love story between an Afghan, Durrani, and a Catholic Albanian from Shengjin, Agetina, who for the sake of her mother-in-law decides to cover herself with a headscarf or hijab, causing waves of debate and almost suspension of schools.

When Agetina Pagjini walks from Lezha to Kavaja in protest, her husband, Mohamed Durrani, realizes that the situation has gotten out of control. However, it is too late. From the hotel where he is staying, after hanging up the phone with Prime Minister Raul Fico, Simon Shuteri laughs triumphantly. He knows that with the dead he always wins.

What happens to Albania if Albanians flee and immigrants and refugees come to the country, gradually taking economic and political power? At least a conspiracy instigated by the Minister of Defense who is an Afghan from Shengjin. The plot involving the invasion of Kosovo, the curfew of Kavaja and a union of Albanians with Russia, comes to life with the involvement of the Albanian grandson of the infamous Trotsky of the Bolshevik revolution. In short, this would be Ben Blushi's newest book, "The Conspiracy" set in Albania in 2044, between Shengjin, Tirana, Kavaja and Pogradec.

Prime Minister Raul Fico, grandson of Rauf Fico, former Foreign Minister of the country before the war (a diplomat who had met Hitler) and one of the key points of the work will have to manage, as much the supremacy of the Jews as the afghans, in a land where, as always, the Albanians who love their conquerors are passive and sufferers in the clash of civilizations or superpowers. Three Jews, Trotsky's nephew, Leonid, Lavi, the grandson of the Zionist Leo Elton who had proposed Albania as the land where the state of Israel should be located before it was settled in Palestine, and Simon Shuter, a Jew from Albania, are for various reasons in the center of the conspiracy that paralyzes the Albanian state. Shuter is the mastermind of the conspiracy, Elton the financier while Trotsky the communist idealist - all three, due to the Albanian-Afghan conflict, give a strong hand to the conflict by orienting Albania away from Russia. After all, as noted in the book, Americans are like God, they take you out to meet the devil whenever they don't want to tell you what to do.

Didn't the Christians always betray us, didn't they take Jesus and Marx from us, aren't the Israelis, because of Zionism, guilty of Communism, Nazism and wars - the Jews of the novel ask, presenting historical events that have shocked the world.

Besides, beyond intellectual debates and issues that concern modern society (or not so modern, unfortunately), the novel "Conspiracy" also gives life to a love story between an Afghan, Durrani, and a Catholic Albanian from Shengjin, Agetina, who for the sake of her mother-in-law decides to be covered with a headscarf or hijab causing waves of debate and almost suspension of schools. This love story will be the connecting thread and the dividing line, in a literary work where cultural differences clash for the sake of aspects of traditional Albanian society. A war with God is addressed through the events that take place in Pogradec at Easter time, confronting Judas and Christ again and dividing the city of Pogradec as Jerusalem. And it is only Simon Shuteri at its head, not only as an atheist but also as a Jew, part of a people at war with God and Christianity even though it gave Christianity, God. Euthanasia, still not discussed in our country, takes on a different weight in the book, due to the 'orthodox' methods of Simon Shuter who conducts social experiments, as much as he provokes a country that has lost a lot in history and where "the province is not interesting at all ” as noted in Ben Blush's “Conspiracy” (Peggy publications).

Islam and Christianity side by side with the Jews face together with the worlds that they represent in a hypothetical and still strained country. Love, war and cultures are intertwined in the novel to give a page of Albania in 2044. If we want to keep this page as it is, turning the other page, this is the end, but if we want to change it, maybe we should reflect on the path we are following and the direction we are giving to the country, both by running away and by staying. Because at the end of the day, Blush's novel "Conspiracy" is dedicated to those who can prevent these events from happening./ BW
