Viruses and flu have affected citizens, especially children. Skëndër Brataj, head of the National Center for Medical Emergencies, explains that cases of flu and viruses are suggested to be treated at home, because they can lead to overcrowding in emergency rooms, or even cases where patients can be affected by other infections.
In case of symptoms, he emphasizes that citizens should contact their family doctor.
"Sending to the hospital has two things, emergency overcrowding and if you went with a virus, you will get another one. Seeing that the spread of the infection of these diseases is through spraying, it is good to avoid gatherings", continues Brataj.
He calls for citizens to be vaccinated against the flu.
"Flu vaccination is one of the key points. Usually the vaccine is given with the previous year's mutation. It is live virus weakened in order to induce immunity. It is one of the main weapons, especially for children, the elderly and people with concomitant diseases. The vaccine has a lot to do with prevention," said Brataj.
Brataj also stopped at measles, where 11 cases have been confirmed in our country. Again he appeals for vaccination.
"Why does measles appear? That they are unvaccinated. 6 of them were family broadcasts. It means that they have not been vaccinated. The biggest evil is that it is said that the vaccine causes autism. It's not true, it's not proven. There is a law, you must be vaccinated. None of those 11 children are in the hospital. Measles spreads much faster, it does not appear immediately, 3-5 days pass, then visible signs and high temperature appear. You went everywhere in 3 days and infected many people without knowing it. In people who are vaccinated, the immunity is almost permanent", emphasizes Brataj.
