After Tirana, it seems that the business with the dead has also started in Kuçovo. Although a small country and among the poorest in Albania, the sale of graves has begun.
A citizen filed a complaint with the police, where according to him, graves were opened in the city cemetery without any funeral service.
The graves are being opened by the employees of the "Piemvis" funeral service, after there was no confirmation of citizens who died. So far, 8 grave pits have been opened and as it can be seen from the film footage, measurements have been made and the place has been surrounded with rope for the opening of 3 more pits.
In relation to this scandal, the citizen Arben Polisi was the one who reported the case to the police. According to him, it is "a great shame" that massive pits are opened without anyone dying, so that you can then bargain for the country, as he puts it.
He said that the pits are opened only with the permission of the municipality and by the employees of the municipality, after the notification that is sent to you by the funeral services for cases of death and not by the workers of the funeral services.
The citizen declares that after he sent the photos to the municipality about what is happening in the public cemetery of the city of Kuçova and did not receive any response, he notified the police and filed a report. Even other cemetery workers claim that opening graves without any "mort" is shameful.
Contacted by the media, the official sources of the police have confirmed that after the report made by the citizen Arben Polisi, the police services have registered the report, have seen the situation in the country and are carrying out procedural actions regarding the reported case.
Law 9220, dated 15.04.2004, item 7 on "funeral service", clearly defines that funeral services are performed with the permission of the municipality and by employees of the municipality.
In addition to this ugly phenomenon, which we faced in the public cemetery of the city of Kuçova, problems such as the overflowing of the cemetery with garbage in every corner and the collapse of the surrounding wall of the cemetery have been focused on the objective of our camera.
