Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku gathered this afternoon the leadership structures of the Gjirokastër district regarding the floods.
Balluku said that the reduction in the level of the Vjosa River in Memaliaj to 6.5 m is very positive news for the entire southern region.
Regarding the decades-old problem that has been created on the Gjirokastër-Tepelena axis, the minister said that the Albanian government will intervene thanks to a plan for the afforestation of this area, which has suffered considerable damage due to erosion, while field inspections will begin for the problems that have been created in several villages of the Memaliaj Municipality.
Today, Balluku also conducted a field inspection at the Mifoli Bridge in Vlora, where the flood situation is severe.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the situation is serious due to bad weather and she urged citizens to respond to civil emergency calls.
