Residents affected by the TID project in Durrës declare that they were dissatisfied with the meeting held at the municipality, where Prime Minister Edi Rama was also present.
According to them, the authorities have made it clear to them that the project will be implemented and that the demolition of the planned buildings will not be stopped.
The residents' representative, architect Entela Koja, said that at the beginning of the meeting they were told that there was no alternative but to accept the project. She stressed that the residents are not against the development, but are demanding a review due to errors that, according to them, were found in the plan.
"We were clearly told that the project will be done and that we are only there to choose between price and housing options. We asked for a review of the project, but they told us that there will be no review ," said Koja.
During the meeting, residents also raised concerns about several objects that claim to have historical value. According to Koja, municipality representatives have stated that these cases will be reviewed.
On behalf of the residents' association, she demanded the urgent cancellation of the IKMT's decisions to demolish the buildings, warning of a reaction to the contrary.
"If the IKMT decisions are not canceled, residents will remain in every building that will be affected. Without this step, any statement made today has no value," the architect declared.
According to data presented by residents' representatives, 35 families are directly affected in the first phase of the project, while the total number of affected entities reaches around 100.
