Prime Minister Edi Rama is in Durrës where, together with Mayor Emirjana Sako, he is holding a meeting with a representative body of residents who oppose the TID project, which affects around 90 buildings, which according to the Municipality of the coastal city should be demolished. Residents have been protesting against the project for several days, and have even managed to ensure that no decision is made at the last meeting of the Municipal Council, which seems to have forced the Head of Government to travel to Durrës to meet with the residents.
In parallel with this meeting, which is being held in the Municipality premises, a group of citizens supported by opposition MPs and municipal councilors are standing in front of the building, in the form of a protest.
Due to security measures, none of the residents who were in front of the Municipality building were able to speak with the Prime Minister, who chose to watch from afar the 'villagers' who could face the consequences of the demolition of their homes, due to the implementation of a project that turns out not to have consulted with them.

It is not known whether the Prime Minister and the residents will agree or not, but referring to previous statements, Rama has hinted that he does not submit to pressure. And in such conditions, he may treat this protest of the citizens as pressure, which could be followed by some repressive intervention.
However, we should not forget the fact that Edi Rama has been a candidate for MP in Durrës, just as he once was in Vlora, and in both coastal cities, both at the central and local levels, governments that he controls himself, projects have been applied that have caused clashes and social problems for citizens.
Homeowners, or those living in houses that are to be demolished, are against being treated as rentals without reaching an agreement on the expropriation of their properties.
According to the municipality, the financial value of the expropriation of 867,776,164 lek has been approved in principle, for the privately owned assets affected by this public investment.
131 owners, private and state, have been identified, for whom the expropriation value has been determined.
The project to revitalize the historic "Epidamn" boulevard, known as TID Durrës, foresees the expropriation of 74 Durrës families, which according to the developers, envisages returning the city of Durrës to the European map of cultural and historical destinations, as well as providing economic benefit opportunities through the city's rich cultural and historical heritage for local communities.
