Arbër Çepani, in an unusual interview, went back in time, from his childhood and years living in Cuba, to his personal relationships and the way he lived the public spotlight. But the strongest moment of the story was another.
The sudden loss of Gert Bogdani, a blow that, according to him, remains the heaviest point in his life and that of his family.
Asked by Ilnisa Agolli how he found the strength to appear in an interview on the very day of the funeral ceremony, Çepani recounts a moment that completely strips him of any filter:
"It was, now that I'm back, probably the most difficult moment of my life. It all seemed like a bad dream, like I was going to wake up and it wouldn't be real."
I remember it like it was now when the interview request came. I was at home with Edlira. I said: 'This is the invitation, what do you think?'
And she said just one sentence to me: 'Please, do it for Gerti.'
Even today, when I remember it, it touches me a lot. I had no desire to speak, nor to share anything with anyone... but that sentence was enough. Because Gerti has always done for people," said Arbër Çepani.
In the same interview, he also touches on his relationship with his sister, Edlira Çepani, for whom he spares neither respect nor admiration:
"Edlira is probably the strongest person I know. She has a public vocation that requires real sacrifice of time, energy, and herself."
I'm different. I'm more selfish in that respect. I chose business because I want independence, I want to enjoy my life, without having to answer to anyone.
"Edlira, on the other hand, gives everything for something bigger than herself. And for that, I deeply admire her ," said Arbër Çepani.
