Former head of the Albanian Anti-Corruption Agency (ARAS), Gentian Gjyli, appeared before SPAK today, April 24, after being informed that the investigation will be extended for another three months.
The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office has extended the investigation deadlines for the Llogara Tunnel case by three months.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has also been informed about this.
The former number two in the government is under investigation for this file for violating equality in tenders, while he is under investigation for the seven lots of the Grand Ring Road.
The extension of the investigations, in addition to Balluk, has also been communicated to her former subordinates, Gentian Gjyli and Erald Elezit.
SPAK has argued that the postponement of the investigation deadlines is due to the fact that conducting expert assessments within the framework of the investigation takes time.
Gjyli is currently under "house arrest" on charges of violating equality in tenders and, during the time the procurement was taking place, held the position of Director of Construction and Maintenance at the Albanian Road Authority.
