The leader of the "Albania Becomes" movement, Adriatik Lapaj, said that the tightening of the security measure in house arrest was expected, given that the former prime minister had refused to implement the first measure.
Lapaj said that if he had been Berisha's lawyer, he would have advised him to appear in court according to the request, since, as he pointed out, the court case is not resolved on the street but in court.
" I was not happy (the house arrest for Berisha) because I am not happy about anyone's harm, anyone's prison, but on the other hand, professionally, I was waiting for him until he avoided the mandatory appearance measure, since the law says that the security measure is toughened if it is implemented. If I had been his lawyer... illegality in the process is corrected through due process, corrected in court, through appeal, lawsuit, counterclaim, through requests and process.
The case of the court is not resolved on the street, but in the court, so there are several levels of the judiciary, even if one level makes a mistake, another level corrects it" , said Lapaj in an interview for Euronews.
