From January 4 until today, 1,200 employees in the fashion industry have left their jobs due to the financial crisis caused by the fall of the euro in the exchange rate and exports. But what is expected for this sector will be even more fatal.
The head of the 'Pro Export Albania' association, Edvin Prençe, in an interview for Report TV, said that with these figures, by June there will be 20-25 thousand lost jobs.
"The pronounced lack of liquidity that businesses have. This problem has begun to bear its fruits, which in most cases occur in rural and deep areas, these people will have a social impact beyond the loss of their jobs. That since the beginning of the economic activity, 1200 people have lost their jobs.
The months of January and February will be scary, if there is no reflection and to stop this economic pandemic, I think that by June we will be 20-25 thousand jobs lost. And I repeat, this sector has 75 thousand employees. We were a prejudiced sector. The responsible institutions will understand very well, and this damage is also due to the lack of reaction of the institutions", said Prençe.
According to "Pro Eksport Albania", the high financial crisis has affected about 75,000 employees throughout the country.
