Lawyer Spartak Ngjela spoke about the May 11 elections and the political parties in the country.
Regarding the parliamentary elections, he stated that 'Prime Minister Edi Rama seems confident of victory and that he is not worried'.
As for the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, he said that he is 'non grata in America', while adding that the leading democrat cannot come to power, but remains in the DP for his own interest.
"Rama seems confident, he doesn't worry. Those polls that foreigners have done give him 10-15 points ahead. This other guy is working hard, working hard in vain. He is non grata in America. Do you think a person who is non grata in America can be the prime minister of Albania? Saliu is not only unacceptable in America, but in the entire West. Why is he staying? He is staying for his own interest. Can he come to power? No, but he is hurting the DP a lot. If the DP had another new leader, he would take power. He is behind, have you seen the polls? He is inconceivable that he could come to power. He protects his material interests, nothing else. That's it. Why? Because he is accused of corruption.
Ignorance is not an argument. Saliu is non grata in America, ma'am, and Congress has that in its hands. When they take it away from him, we'll see. I can't speak with Saliu's phrases, 'Trump is ours'. Saliu has a difficult political future.
Between the two parties, one has an anti-American leader, the DP. This one, Rama, it is known that the SP is with the West. They are sure of it. When power is secure, the DP cannot win. It has a non grata leader, if he becomes prime minister, Albania goes non grata.
Albania is a very close country as an alliance with the US. They will still keep the Albanian justice system under surveillance and we need them. This country has been very corrupt and if we escape, we escape from American expertise.
We must get rid of corruption, it has been very big and has damaged the development of the country. Their elimination will create a new spirit. The first is development, because governments will not be led by Belgrade, as they are led here by those who are now non grata. There will be complete internal competition. Saliu will be punished and will leave the DP, and then we will have SP-DP competition. Because now the SP has no competition. Rama will repeat the power, because he has the votes and the polls show him ahead", said Ngjela in "Breaking".
