For the third time in a row, the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha did not appear at the Special Prosecutor's Office, failing to comply with the court's decision. The ex-prime minister, under investigation for corruption charges, in connection with the privatization file of the former Partizani complex, did not appear even this Monday, at 10:00 a.m.
The well-known analyst and lawyer Brizida Gjikondi, invited to "News Line" on ABC News, said that with this approach, Berisha has completely ignored SPAK.
According to her, in contrast to previous times, even the former prime minister's defense lawyers did not participate in the court today.
During the interview, the lawyer underlined that Berisha is the "brain" and the main organizer of acts of chaos in the Assembly. She emphasized that Berisha, by constantly denying justice, is turning into a dangerous precedent and example for society.
" We have an innovation today, that even the lawyers did not go. He has completely ignored SPAK. Berisha is the director, screenwriter and is the brain of what is happening, but also its beneficiary. He didn't go three times. Berisha is becoming a scandalous precedent for disrespecting the law. Any other citizen would have been declared wanted and there would have been a change to the previous measure ", said Gjikondi.
Furthermore, Gjikondi says that Berisha, with his rejection of the law, is creating a wrong model for all those young people, who tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, will have the direction of Albania in their hands.
She said that the Assembly and SPAK seem to be in harmony when it comes to not reacting to the chaos and the actions of the former prime minister, who instead of obeying the law, does the opposite by creating violence and disregard for law-enforcement bodies. Such acts, Gjikondi added, must be prosecuted by justice and SPAK must react.
" I am sorry to see that Berisha continues to be the model of 2023, in front of a youth, who needs a legal education, and Berisha is thereby harming the generations that tomorrow will have Albania in their hands. SPAK and the parliament seem to be in harmony, being passive in the face of this situation. It is not in the interest of the country to allow scenes at that level of degradation. I believe so, because I think that today prosecutors Arben Kraja and Enkeleda Millonai have a legal obligation to react ," she said.
