The investigations of Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi by the Special Prosecutor's Office are coming to an end. The criminalistics expert, Ervin Karamuço, says that within September there may be concrete actions regarding this matter.
" We all thought that there would be concrete measures, whether they would be arrests or measures. The measures were postponed and left after the holidays. Within September we will have concrete actions on this issue. If violations are found, first there will be sequestration of assets and then there may be coercive measures of a personal nature" , said Karamuço.
Asked if actions should be taken by the judiciary before the elections, he said that from February to May next year we will not have strikes from SPAK as it can be called interference in the elections.
" There should be no concrete actions because it affects the will of the electorate. In America, it is called interference in the campaign, but on the other hand, there are European countries that say that if we have something, we can arrest in the framework of the actions of the elections and also for corruption during the electoral campaign. In Albania, some of these actions were postponed in time, there was a suspension of actions because they rightly thought they could ignite more debate between political parties. We will be in the same conditions next year as well, where after February to May there will be no sensational actions, especially the arrests of politicians, but their list will be added both left and right, which even before this period will be behind the irons. I say it with conviction" , he said.
Focusing on the case of the arrest of Telegram's founder in Paris, the expert said that there is evidence that politicians and other well-known Albanian figures have also communicated in this application.
" We have a coercive measure in Paris against the owner of Telegram. There are data that many years ago, Albanian politicians, prosecutors, magistrates, judges communicated with foreign cards, mainly British, in this app. If the Telegram servers are opened in Dubai, and the same data will be released as for Sky ECC and after 5 years, we will have another big wave of wiretapping in Albania" , Karamuço added.
