The virgin bay of Saranda, until now accessible only by boat or after a 1.5-hour walk, is turning into a construction site for the villas and resorts of Dajlan Avdia's "Hillside" project. The exhibition that opens these days presents this transformation as "contemporary architecture"
The exhibition "Landscapes Sound of Albania" will 'introduce' us to the giant tourist project in the Bay of Krorëza in Saranda. It is an exhibition that will showcase a curated selection of contemporary Albanian projects, creating an inclusive space where visitors can experience the diversity and creativity of modern architecture in the country.
Architect Giovanni Ferrara will present the projects Saranda, Colosseum 339 and Krorëz. Let's stop at the latter, Krorëz, a virgin bay surrounded by forests and hills, creating a beautiful landscape far from concretion. Krorëz beach is known for its untouched nature and limited access, which has attracted visitors who travel by boat or through a long walking path of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
But, this panorama seems not to last for long, as a tourist project of frightening proportions will take the place of nature and be 'occupied' by concrete. It is the "Hillside" project that will be built by the winning company "Invest Society" of Dajlan Avdia, with a complex of villas and resorts that descend the hills to the beach.
There is currently no official and confirmed date for the start of works on the large tourism development project in the Krorëza area, while full details of the project have not been made public. So far it is known that the National Council for Territorial Regulation (KKT) approved the development permit for the project in Krorëza at the end of November 2024. However, the deadlines for the start of works have not been made public. /ZËRI
