Former prosecutor Eugen Beci has spoken about the opening of the DEA office in Tirana, which will work mostly in the direction of combating the trafficking of hard drugs.
Beci said that this shows that our country has also become a problem for drug trafficking, mainly cocaine.
The former prosecutor added that the Albanian state cannot control this cocaine traffic, so the American DEA will be put to work.
"Drug trafficking in Albania has forced the DEA to open an office. Albania has become a problem for DEA as well. This can also be called a failure of the Albanian state in the fight against cocaine. The DEA only intervenes when dealing with cocaine trafficking and money laundering.
If the DEA previously had an office in Athens, now we will have one here as well. Cocaine traffic has in our country the center of organizing the "soldiers" of criminal organizations, there is a center of organizing the cleaning of criminal offenses. Albanian criminal organizations are suffocating Europe with drugs", said Beci for "News 24".
