Kukës has been hit by heavy snowfall in recent hours, bringing significant drops in temperatures and traffic difficulties.
Snow has covered the city of Kukës, while in mountainous areas over 600 meters above sea level, its thickness has exceeded 5 centimeters.
The thermometer has dropped to minus 2 degrees Celsius in the city of Kukës, while in the deeper mountainous areas temperatures have reached minus 9 degrees. These atmospheric conditions have created the presence of frost on several national road axes.
Particularly problematic are the roads Kukës-Peshkopi, Kukës-Qafë Mali, Krumë-Bajram Curri, as well as the Kukës-Shishtavec axis, where drivers must show increased caution while driving.
Authorities are calling on drivers to equip themselves with winter tires and respect road traffic rules. So far, there have been no reports of blocked roads, while the responsible structures are continuously monitoring the situation.
