Snow has also blanketed the northeast today. The snowfall began in the early hours of the morning after temperatures dropped significantly to minus 3 degrees Celsius.
The thickness of the snow varies from 5 to 10 centimeters, which is accompanied by wind creating layers of ice on the road. The National Road is being kept under constant monitoring and is being treated with salt along its entire length.
There are currently no problems with vehicle traffic on the National Road from Morina to Rrëshen.
On the national roads connecting Kukës with Has, Peshkopia, Puka, Shishtavec, etc., there are difficulties due to layers of ice. Entrepreneurial companies are working to treat them with salt. There are also problems on rural roads in Kukës, Has and Tropoja.
Traffic police are on the ground advising drivers to limit speed and check their winter equipment. According to the Civil Emergency Commission, there are no emergency problems.
The entire territory of the district is normally supplied with electricity, excluding the Bicaj administrative unit in the municipality of Kukës, for which OSHE working groups are working to repair the defects.
