Guxim Zenelaj, former member of the Supreme Court, was sentenced to 6 months in prison by the Criminal Court of Kosovo, his sentence was converted to 1 year of probation.
The decision of the GJKKO is half of the sentence requested by SPAK.
In application of Article 59, SPAK requested that the former Supreme Court judge be sentenced to 1 year in prison, but that he not be sent to prison, but be placed on probation for a period of 24 months.
SPAK is seeking to find Zenelaj guilty of the charge of "refusal to declare, failure to declare, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests and assets of elected persons and public servants or of any other person who has a legal obligation to declare."
A few months ago, the Appeals Court of the Republic of Kosovo (GJKKO) decided to seize 7 properties owned in Zenelaj's name. The list of confiscated properties includes 6 apartments and garages, as well as a 1,000 square meter area in Porto Palermo.
