Analyst Martin Leka spoke about former Prime Minister Berisha's appearance at the SPAK and the implementation of the "compulsory appearance" security measure. Berisha was escorted to the door of the Special Prosecutor's Office by militants of the Democratic Party.
Leka said that such manifestations are pressure on SPAK and do no honor to anyone, as the former prime minister did not spare the accusations before SPAK against the prosecutors and Duman.
"Open pressure does not honor the person under investigation. Alarm for the Albanian society that is in a state full of hope that the culture of impunity of high politicians has ended. It is an open pressure within the electoral campaign, there is no future. As soon as the pressures on the justice bodies end. In this case, if we take the DP as an example, it falls to the SP to make the same example, with 61 of its own officials accused in prison, arrested or under investigation. Just as PL did with the mayor in prison. I feel like we are nowhere" , said Leka for "Report Tv".
The analyst also stated that there are many deputies within the DP who are against this approach of Berisha and do not support him in such attacks on SPAK. According to him, this was seen today when many of the DP deputies were absent from the protest.
"There are many MPs from the ranks of DP who do not agree with the approach of leader Berisha. There are also many MPs who do not say it publicly. It is a party of Sali Berisha. All these MPs are afraid and are careful that the closed lists do what all DP MPs do, they will live from the list of Mayor Berisha. That's the point. They are simply within the scope of this suaze. They try to be the favorites to be on the lists of candidates for deputies. After the elections, we may have voices against it. I think this is true. Their not going is in this context", he said.
Regarding the comparison with Donald Trump and the court proceedings against him in the USA, Martin Leka also said that there is no connection between the two cases. This is because Berisha is known as the politician of the culture of violence, since 30 years ago.
"It is not for any parallelism. They may have similarities in the culture of public display. But the culture of Berisha is the culture of violence in many cases. And the protests in SPAK, Berisha's statement with the most monstrous accusations against Duman, are all within the framework of the culture of violence practiced by the DP chairman, Berisha. He had this culture, he nurtured it in all the rallies. It is in this connection and approach. I think that after 34 years of democracy, the political culture must change. I think that SPAK will also change the culture of individuals in politics. "SPAK will clean Albanian politics from political obsolescence" , he concluded.
