The Special Prosecutor's Office continues to operate with two standards. SPAK demanded an arrest measure for Arben Ahmetaj and also arrested the former deputy minister of health for the affair with sterilization, while names like Ilir Beqaj or Fatmir Mediu have been released. While Beqaj is still under investigation, Mediu's case is even more blatant.
He is being tried for the tragedy of Gërdec and the scandal is that he follows the trial on television, since SPAK has not requested any measure of arrest against him. Based on this, on Friday he took another step to delay his trial. Mediu waived summary judgment by initiating due process. Mediu asked the court to summon over 90 witnesses, including former ministers and various officials.
