The Constitutional Court rejects the appeal of Naureda Llagami...
Attempts to seize the Constitutional Court fail. The former president of the Constitutional Court, Naureda Llagami, and those who were hiding behind her, waged a dirty war to have her appointed to the Constitutional Court, but the attempts have failed.
After leaving the Constitutional Court, Llagami ran for a member of the Constitutional Court. But in the end she failed to be elected by just one vote. The vacancy was for the Supreme Court and in the final vote Llagami received 8 votes in favor, while one was declared invalid because it had two marks. The law stipulates that the candidate must receive 9 votes, but Llagami received 8. The law also stipulates that if the Supreme Court does not provide the votes, the first person ranked by the KED is appointed. The first was Asim Vokshi.
But Llagami did not accept defeat and launched a complaint process, but improper methods were used. "Top Channel" came out in her support, which had been attacking Asim Vokshi for several days, wanting to damage his image.
But all have failed. As a last resort, Llagami turned to the Constitutional Court, which today rejected her request to declare the procedure followed invalid. This means that the president will now have to decree Asim Vokshin, a career judge and uncontroversial, as a member.
A while ago, several wiretaps were released of Llagami, where he was bargaining with former MP Klotilda Bushka. In those conversations, there was talk of seizing justice, and her appointment to the Constitutional Court seems to have been a move from above to get his hands on this court.
Clashes and attacks
Judge Asim Vokshi was declared the winner of the vacant position on the Constitutional Court on September 30. From the secret ballot in the High Court, the candidate Naureda Llagami had secured 8 votes, Vokshi 6 votes, while one vote was declared invalid. With the reasoning that no one managed to secure 3/5 of the votes, Vokshi was declared the winner, who had secured first place in the KED score.
But after the failure of Llagami, “Top Channel” launched attacks on Vokshi. On November 9, the television reported that the chairman of the Judicial Appointments Council, KED, Sokol Sadushi, had “hid” compromising information from the Supreme Court, according to which Judge Vokshi was “an informant or agent of intelligence services.”
According to Top Channel, this information, coming from AKSIK, constituted a prohibitive criterion for the selection of Vokshi as a member of the Constitutional Court. The television claims in its report that the KED, headed by the head of the Supreme Court, Sokol Sadushi, did not carry out its duty to verify the AKSIK report.
The judge then reacted, dismissing the accusations: " The fact that it is being made a scoop now speaks for itself about the malicious and illegal intentions that I have to face, just because someone does not like my profile for the Constitutional Court ." The KED also reacted, dismissing the allegations. However, it seems that this dirty game has come to an end and now Asim Vokshi will be a member of the Constitutional Court.
